Radiant

Radiant

Creased forehead
Wrinkled eyes
Buttoned down oxford
Every Friday night
He’d sing a song for her
He’d hear her laugh beneath the dirt
Radiant she was
Her light brown eyes
Red bonnet, white skirt
He dropped the rose
And his heart as well
And whispered something
to his knees he fell
Goodmorning sweet darling
Goodnight he said too
no flashlight he held
the light it’d subdue
