Intermittent Fasting


I’ve heard of this practice quite a few times throughout my search for dieting tips, tricks and strategies. Intermittent fasting can look like a lot of things, but it is what you might think it is when you picture fasting. In short intermittent fasting is not eating for periods at a time. There are a few different kinds of intermittent fasting kinds but they all fall under the absence of eating category. The four of the most common types are the 24-hour-fast, the 20-hour-fast (warrior diet), feast/fast and 16-hour-fasting. I’m not going to go into the details for the time being, but needless to say each kind has benefits and drawbacks. I’m going to be trying the 24-hour fasting type because it is said to be the easiest to work into a weird/busy schedule and because I work two jobs and go to school I have a very weird/busy schedule.

So this means that I don’t eat for a 24 hour period. This sounds extremely difficult I know, but I’ve heard that it sounds harder than it actually is. We shall see. Also, it can’t be any more difficult than not wearing make-up for a month and I’m struggling on through that journey.

The idea behind this is that normally the average person eats about 2000 calories a day, so in other words about 14,000 calories a week. If you take about 2000 calories from that equation you are losing nearly a pound a week if you add in some exercise.

I’m going to be trying to do this every Tuesday. Mostly because hardly anything happens on Tuesdays so why not?

I’m tracking this because if I don’t write it down I won’t do it. You reading this is keeping be accountable because now that you know I won’t be able to quit.
